  Top Tips For Fitting Your Blanket include:  Belly surcingles should be adjusted to allow a hands width between straps and belly.  Your hand should fit comfortably between the neck and shoulder areas and the blanket.  If not, the blanket could cause discomfort and rubbing.  If the blanket extends beyond the top of the tail, the blanket may be too big.  If the blanket does not reach the top of the tail, the blanket may be too small.  However, examine the neck and shoulder area for fit before making a decision to go for a different size.  Make sure that the tail is lifted over the fillet strap and that the strap is securely attached on both sides.  This will prevent the blanket from blowing forward.  Where possible pull the tail through the strapping on the inside of the tail flap.  Horseware uses standard 2 and 3 cross surcingles on all their blankets except for the coolers and the following products that use 3 straight surcingles include:  Rambo Optimo, Amigo Bug Buster, Rambo Flybuster.  When closing the surcingles on the blanket secure the middle on first and then cross over the 2 out surcingles.

A horse blanket or rug is a blanket or animal coat intended for keeping a horse or other equine warm or otherwise protected from wind or other elements. They are tailored to fit around a horse's body from chest to rump, with straps crossing underneath the belly to secure the blanket yet allowing the horse to move about freely.
